The Bad Krozingen public library, which was established in 1989, has been housed in a new modern building since 2015. Situated immediately next to the railway station, the visitor enters through a barrier-free door into a generously proportioned and spacious library, which transforms the thought of a book repository in an outstanding way into a place of encounter. The well-balanced stock of over 20,000 media items is constantly updated.
Reading ambassadors put on special readings once a month in German or in French for the younger readers.
The town of Bad Krozingen has enjoyed the benefits of having a new cinema which opened in March 2015. This is not just equipped with the latest projection technology but also has a new high-quality 3-d projection system. In all the JOKI cinema has 112 seats as well as three wheel chair spaces and is accessible from ground level via a lift. The JOKI cinema provides a varied program of entertainment six days a week.
Since 2008 the cinema has been managed as a community cinema by the Bad Krozingen JOKI Association. Its office is located in the municipal office for culture. As laid down in the JOKI Association’s Articles of Association, the JOKI seeks to distinguish itself from purely commercial cinemas by providing a platform for more unusual films. The JOKI therefore also shows film in foreign languages, films based on works of literature and live transmissions, such as those in the project with the Bolshoi theatre in Moscow which began in November 2015.
The JOKI team looks forward to welcoming you to the cinema!
