Welcome to Wine Region Badische Bergstraße
A narrow strip of countryside at the junction between the Rhine Valley and the Odenwald, with numerous cycling and hiking trails. Magnificent views, numerous medieval castles. In spring, a sea of blossoms from the numerous fruit and almond trees. In autumn, a beautiful sight thanks to the colorful trees and vine leaves.
The Bergstraße, this narrow strip of countryside at the junction between the Rhine valley and the Odenwald, has become famous for the magnificent blossoms of countless almond, cherry, and peach trees; a unique experience every spring!
Many hiking trails connect the medieval castles along the Bergstraße. Whether it's the Strahlenburg in Schriesheim with its beautiful open terrace and view over the steeply sloping vineyards, Windeck Castle, or Wachenburg Castle as Weinheim's majestic landmarks, the Bergstraße offers visitors a varied picture.
But it's not just Weinheim with its picturesque castle park and unique exotic forest that are worth a visit; the Bergstraße communities of Hirschberg and Dossenheim, and the wine villages of Schriesheim, Leimen, and Wiesloch are also well worth a visit.
