Kulturlandschaft Vier- und Marschlande

The 800-year-old cultural landscape of Vier- und Marschlande stretches across the south-east of Hamburg. Marsh is alluvial land on which flowers and food have been grown since time immemorial. The sale of their goods quickly made the Vierland farmers the richest in northern Germany. The elaborate thatched farmhouses still bear witness to the prosperity of the large landowners of the time.
