Rich silver discoveries gave rise to the founding of the mountain town of Schneeberg in 1471. Visitors to the Museum of Mining Folk Art can find out how this treasure influenced the lives of the townspeople. Sweeping views over the region can be enjoyed from the Keilberg. The Siebenschlehener Pochwerk is located to the south-west of the city centre. This apparatus with a mill wheel and several hammers is still in working order today.
