Burg Posterstein

The medieval Posterstein Castle is located in the border triangle of Thuringia, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. Insufficient building maintenance and leaking roofs, which led to water ingress, caused the castle to gradually fall into disrepair from the 1950s onwards. Only after extensive restoration was the museum finally able to reopen. Today it houses an exhibition on the history of the Altenburger Land.
