Burg Schönfels

Schönfels Castle, which was built under Frederick I, only acquired its present appearance around 1500. At that time, the fortress was extended to include residential buildings, including a late Gothic wooden parlour. Wall paintings have been preserved here to this day. Another gem is the ornate winged altar in the chapel. The keep provides an overview of the entire castle complex.
