First mentioned in documents in the Middle Ages, Burgstädt soon developed into an important craft town. Historical sights include the town hall from the 18th century and the neo-Gothic town church. In Wettinhain, the Taurastein Tower offers an unrivalled panoramic view. The park, also known as the "green centre of Burgstädt", boasts water features and rare plants.
