Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide

Teichstraße 1, 39326 Colbitz

Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide
The Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide - the largest contiguous heathland area in Central Europe - stretches north of Magdeburg. In addition to the heathland, it is also home to an almost 200-hectare lime forest, which can be explored via a four-kilometre circular hiking trail. Another attraction is the guided tour of the slag heap to the 120 metre high "Kalimandscharo" - a hill made from the waste products of Zielitz's ongoing potash production.
