Erfurter Schatz | Alte Synagoge

Waagegasse 8, 99084 Erfurt

Erfurter Schatz | Alte Synagoge
Partly from the 11th century the Old Synagogue in Erfurt is the oldest synagogue in Central Europe that has been preserved up to the roof. Today it houses a museum with medieval artefacts from the Jewish community. In addition to tombstones from the destroyed cemetery, it presents Hebrew manuscripts and the Erfurt treasure of precious pieces of jewellery and coins made of silver and gold.
