Gellert-Stadt Hainichen
A bronze statue on the market square reveals that Hainichen proudly bears the title "Gellert town". The house where the poet Christian Fürchtegott Gellert was born is now adorned with a plaque of honour, while the Gellert Museum is dedicated to his life and work. Another highlight is the camera obscura, of which there are only around a dozen in Germany.
