Gesseler Goldhort in Syke
In April 2011, a spectacular treasure was found in a district of Syke: the Gessel gold hoard. It consists of a total of 117 gold objects from the Bronze Age with a total weight of 1.7 kilograms. The find can be admired together with other archaeological excavations in the specially constructed new building of the Syke District Museum. The hands-on lab invites you to try out research methods for yourself.
