With its moors, heaths and the foothills of the Teutoburg Forest, the county of Bentheim is a landscape of contrasts. In the small town of Neuenhaus, windmills bear witness to its geographical proximity to Holland, while Bad Bentheim is home to a medieval castle. The spa town is also known for its saltwater baths. The Quendorfer See lake to the north of Schüttdorf is ideal for relaxing on the sandy beach.
