Heide Deutschlands größter Marktplatz
Germany's largest undeveloped market square is located in the centre of Heide. The area extends over almost 4.7 hectares and has been in use since the 15th century. It is still used by traders for the weekly Sunday market. The imposing site was originally built as a meeting place for the regional assembly of the free and independent farmers' republic of Dithmarschen.
