Kloster Cismar

Cismar Monastery is located five kilometres from the Baltic Sea coast in the village of the same name. You can experience the almost 800-year history of the former Benedictine abbey on a walk through the monastery grounds with moat and mill pond. The monastery's altar, created in Lübeck between 1310 and 1320, is widely recognised as one of the oldest carved winged altar shrines in art history.
