Kloster und Kaiserpfalz Memleben
As early as the 10th century, Memleben, with its monastery and imperial palace, was at the centre of European history under the rule of the Ottonian dynasty. They preferred to stay in the town. Remains of the historic Benedictine monastery have been preserved to this day, including a crypt and the columns of the monastery church. Various exhibitions reveal more about the former use of the buildings, such as in the scriptorium, where medieval book production is the theme.
