KZ-Gedenkstätte Mittelbau-Dora

Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp was originally founded as a subcamp of Buchenwald concentration camp. Today, the memorial impressively documents the fate of forced labourers during the Second World War. Around 60,000 people had to work in underground tunnels for the German armaments industry. The remains of barracks and farm buildings can be found underground. A museum also provides information about the V2 rockets that were produced in Mittelbau-Dora.
