Carp farming has a tradition of around 750 years in Lusatia. With an area of over 30,000 hectares, the largest closed pond area in Europe has been a protected UNESCO biosphere reserve since 1996. In addition to rearing fish, the ponds are also valuable from an ecological point of view. The annual Lusatian Fish Weeks in autumn are a special experience for guests from near and far.
