Would you like to experience the past up close and follow in the footsteps of the Romans? The Limes Museum provides a compact overview of the history of the Romans and life along the Limes. As part of the "Frontiers of the Roman Empire" World Heritage Site, the Limes in Aalen is of significant cultural and historical importance. The completely new permanent exhibition with over 1,200 original finds is presented on an extended 1,500 m² exhibition area. The museum and the archaeological park offer interesting insights into the era in which the largest Roman cavalry fort north of the Alps was located in Aalen. The preserved foundation walls of the staff building and the reconstructed cavalry barracks bear witness to the size and influence of Roman power.Source: DZT Knowledge Graph
