Meldorfer Dom

Nordermarkt, 25704 Meldorf

Meldorfer Dom
Just a few kilometres from the North Sea coast, in the centre of Meldorf, stands the cathedral of the same name, officially known as St. John's Church. Built in the mid-13th century, it was destroyed by fire in 1866. It was not until centuries after its construction that the three-nave basilica took on its present appearance. The medieval baptismal font of the early Gothic building is particularly worth seeing.
