General information:
The Museum of Contemporary Art in Siegen is dedicated to influential postions in contemporary art, from painting through photography and video art to space- and time-specific installations. It is devoted to both contemporary art since the 1950s and 60s as well as to the current art scene. One focus of the museum is the work of Bernd and Hilla Becher, setting a regional accent.
The museum furthermore houses the Lambrecht-Schadeberg collection which contains extensive and important works of all the Rubens Prize winners of the City of Siegen. In addition to the permanent presentation of the Lambrecht-Schadeberg/Rubens Prize winners collection of the City of Siegen, and private collections from the fields of photography, video art and art installations, the Museum for Contemporary Art also presents three to four extensive temporary exhibitions annually.
