Even the poet Theodor Storm admired the landscape of today's Eichsfeld-Hainich-Werratal Nature Park. Situated on the western and north-western edge of the Thuringian Basin, visitors can expect alluvial forests and flowering meadows as well as towering cliffs of shell limestone. History buffs can visit the 800-year-old Creuzburg castle. A special sight awaits you in Vogtei: Sacrificial artefacts from the time of the Germanic tribes are presented there.
