Naturpark Kyffhäuser

North of the Thuringian Basin and south of the Harz Mountains, the Kyffhäuser Nature Park stretches around the mountain range of the same name. A steppe landscape awaits you there, where rare plant species flourish. The ascent to the Kyffhäuser monument with its statue of Emperor Barbarossa is a sporty and active experience. In addition to the Panorama Museum, visitors can marvel at underground lakes and a wealth of stalactites in the Barbarossa Cave.
