Framed by the eponymous rivers, the Nuthe-Nieplitz Nature Park is home to wetlands with numerous plants and waterfowl. The former military training area in Jüterbog is particularly rich in species. Wolves have even been able to settle here over the years. While deer can be observed in the Glauer Tal game reserve, the shores of Lake Blanken are a mecca for ornithologists.
