The Wildeshauser Geest Nature Park is characterised by heaths and moors as well as massive boulders, the remnants of the last ice age. Countless burial mounds bear witness to the first humans in the region, while medieval architecture awaits visitors in Hude. In addition to the early Gothic St Elisabeth's Church, there is also a ruined monastery from the 13th century.
