Nordfriesland/Nordfriislon
Nordfriesland, known as Nordfriislon in dialect, is the northernmost district in the Federal Republic of Germany. Well-known islands such as Sylt, Amrum and Föhr as well as the northernmost coastal strip between the Eider and the German-Danish border belong to this district. With High German, Low German, Frisian and Danish in more than nine dialects, North Frisia is also the most linguistically diverse region in Germany.
