You can learn more about the history of the former duchy at the Pomeranian State Museum in Greifswald. The exhibits range from artefacts from the last Ice Age to everyday objects from the 20th century. The latter tell of flight and expulsion, but also of life in the GDR. Important works by Caspar David Friedrich are presented in the Picture Gallery.
