Reußische Residenzen
The Reussian Residences are a reminder of the former aristocratic dynasty that resided in Thuringia until 1918. Greiz was at the centre of their power. There are still two castles here today with exhibitions on the history of the Prussians. Another former residence is the ruins of Lobenstein Castle in the spa town of the same name, with its medieval keep around 30 metres high.
