The Niederfinow ship lift is the oldest ship lift still in operation in Germany. Ships have been transported upwards here in a water-filled trough since 1934. Visitors can marvel at the five-minute spectacle in the gallery or on a trip on the excursion boat.  In 2022, a new lifting station with even larger dimensions was completed in the immediate vicinity.
