Schloss Altranstädt
Originally built as a monastery estate around 1200, the castle was constructed as a three-winged complex at the end of the 16th -beginning of the 17th century. It is famous for its so called "Friedenszimmer" or Peace Room, where the Peace of Altranstädt was concluded between the King of Sweden and the Elector of Saxony in 1706. A museum is dedicated to the eventful history of the complex.
