Schloß Augustusburg

Built in the 16th century, Augustusburg Castle has been known as the "Crown of the Ore Mountains" ever since. The eponymous Elector August spent carefree days hunting here. In addition to the Renaissance architecture, the castle museum with its historic carriages and hunting trophies is particularly attractive. Another favourite is the panoramic view from the observation tower, which visitors can enjoy after climbing 130 steps.
