Schloss Bernburg

Schloßstraße 24, 06406 Bernburg (Saale)

Schloss Bernburg
Bernburg Castle is built on sandstone cliffs on the eastern bank of the Saale. The fully preserved residence and residential palace of the princes and later dukes of Anhalt-Bernburg was first mentioned in documents in the 10th century as a wooden rampart called "Brandanburg". The castle courtyard is home to a keep known far and wide as the "Eulenspiegelturm" (Owl Mirror Tower), which is around 44 metres high. According to legend, Till Eulenspiegel once stood guard here.
