Waldheim is idyllically framed by 13 mountain ranges in the Zschopau valley. The town lives up to its name, as there are around 170 trees for every inhabitant. Culture lovers can admire the numerous stained glass windows of the Art Nouveau town hall. Underground, in the Kellerberg, there is a labyrinth of tunnels created by the mining of serpentinite, the so-called "Saxon marble".
