UNESCO Biosphärenreservat Heide und Teiche

As one of the largest pond areas in Germany, the UNESCO Heath and Pond Landscape Biosphere Reserve epitomises an evolved cultural landscape in the eastern part of Saxony. Rare dragonflies, butterflies and amphibians, for example, can be observed here. You can find out more about these animals at the "House of a Thousand Ponds", which also offers guided hikes. Nature markets with regional products and craft demonstrations are held several times a year.
