The Wildeshausen Prehistoric Centre serves as a focal point for the region's archaeological sights. These include over 530 burial mounds from the 1st Millennium BC: the so-called "Pestruber burial ground". Even older are the Kleinenkneten stones, the piling of which represented a huge achievement in the Stone Age. Here you can even look inside a prehistoric burial chamber.
