Waffenstadt Suhl

Weapons were manufactured in Suhl in the Franconian-influenced south of Thuringia as early as the Middle Ages, which is why it is now known as the city of weapons. Initially swords and armour were made here, later firearms. More than 460 exhibits from several centuries can be marvelled at in the weapons museum. The vehicle museum in the Congress Centre also presents around 260 exhibits, including well-known Simson motorbikes.
