Marktplatz 7, 76356 Weingarten (Baden)
This wonderful timber framing house at the marketplace of the community Weingarten in Baden was erected in 1701 and was named after its owner. The foundation walls are the originals from 1509. During the altercations of the 30-years war and the French – Palatine war of succession the house got destroyed and was restored 200 years later.
For the construction very expensive and old oak beams were used. In the early 1980’s a company from Weingarten renovated the house. Today it is used as a pub, restaurant and hotel.
The young and creative chef de cuisine Jörg Lawerenz has learned his profession in leading German houses. His style, light, clear and modern, is an appealing contrast to the historical walls of the house. Determining credo for Mr. Lawerenz and his team are respectively quality ingredients in combination with fine selected wines.
Respectively appealing is the quality of wines in the wine cellar of the restaurant. Besides local wines from Baden and the surroundings, wine aficionados can try delicious wines from France, Italy, New Zealand , California, Switzerland and Spain.
