Wasserkraftmusem Ziegenrück - Naturparkregion Thüringer Meer

The Ziegenrück Hydropower Museum is located directly next to one of the oldest listed run-of-river power stations in Germany, dating from 1900. As early as the Middle Ages, there was a long-distance mill in Ziegenrück that utilised water power. The museum has various interactive exhibitions on the subject of power generation using water, while a collection of turbines and water wheels can be admired on the open-air site.
