Wasserstraßenkreuz
The connection between the Mittelland Canal and the Elbe Havel Canal is the waterway junction in Magdeburg. With a length of 918 metres, the imposing trough bridge is one of the longest canal bridges in the world and the largest steel structure in Europe. The construction, consisting of a foreshore and river bridge, dates back to an idea from 1877.
