Welcome to Friedrich Heinrich Colliery Park
The colliery park, created from industry and "Maloche", has become a local recreation area in the middle of Kamp-Lintfort with the 2020 State Garden Show. With the various offers provided by the green spaces, the mining tradition and the Kalisto animal park, the park is an attractive destination for Kamp-Lintfort residents and for people from the Lower Rhine and Ruhr regions.
The park area covers approx. 25 hectares. The site is visible from afar thanks to the winding tower, which is accessible as a viewing platform with a guided tour. Along Friedrich-Heinrich-Allee are a number of old brick-built colliery buildings, the oldest of which were built from around 1909: Markscheiderei, machine hall, mine rescue building, daytime operations building, magazine building, winding machine house, pay hall with part of the Schwarzkaue, old metalworking shop and fan building. Residential units will be built in the former winding machine building and the magazine building will house the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. Further new uses will be found in the remaining buildings.
The design of the buildings is particularly impressive with numerous decorative elements on the façades, which also make the site visually special.
Please note that dogs must be kept on a lead in the Zechenpark.
The Colliery Park and many of its facilities have been tested for accessibility by Reisen für Alle:
