Historic Town Hall

General information:

The Historic Town Hall housed the city municipality until 2002. It is an imposing timber framed building (with lower stone structure) dating back to 1559/60. Unfortunately, the large oriel in the gable front and the two pointed
arch portals of the ground floor were removed in the 19th century. Since 1926/27 the imposing timber framing of the building has been exposed again. An appropriate use of the time-honoured building in
in the planning. The city municipality was relocated into the historic castle of the Landgrave (Count) of Hesse in 2002.
