Friends of grass track sports - look at this circuit
For 90 years now, the Teterower Bergring has lost none of its fascination. The 1877 m long grass racecourse attracts thousands of motor sports enthusiasts to the Mecklenburg state every year at Whitsun. Especially German and English race drivers left their mark on this fast track for decades. The British Trevor Banks and Simon Wigg hold the track records for a reason and the German legend Hans Zierk achieved the most victories on this grass track.
Top speeds of 140 km/h are not uncommon and those of the 500 cc licence riders who want to reach the finals should be able to circle the mountain ring in just a minute.
In addition to the half-litre grass track machines, crossers, quads and sidecars also fight for victory on such a race weekend. The sporting highlights, however, are the handicap race for the Bergring Cup and the final with the 12 fastest grass track riders of the day to win the "Green Ribbon“.
The race for the Bergring Cup is particularly exciting. Sponsored by the Teterow town council, this coveted trophy has been awarded since 1957. Currently, the racers start from three rows with an interval of about 10 seconds. The fastest are in the last row and therefore spectacular overtaking manoeuvres are typical for this race.
In addition to the hillclimb race, the RUST 'N' DUST Jalopy - a unique combination of hillclimb and dirt track in Germany for US vehicles built up to 1959, the ADAC hillclimb rally (car) or the Enduro Cup are further motor sport highlights at the starting line.
Outside special events free of charge.
