Kirchplatz 10, 89143 Blaubeuren

Blautopf Blaubeuren
Located on the eastern edge of the Swabian Alb, the Blautopf in Blaubeuren is a fascinating natural spectacle with its turquoise blue colour. This is caused by a physical effect of light scattering on the lime particles in the water. The surrounding area attracts visitors with a variety of hiking trails, culinary and cultural attractions such as the former Benedictine monastery and numerous caves and sinkholes created by the regional limestone geology.
