The Lessing town of Kamenz, first mentioned in a document in 1225, is known nationwide for its sacred treasures. In addition to its function as a place of worship, the 500-year-old monastery church of St Annen is also a religious museum that houses five delicately carved altars from the 16th century. The granite parish church of St Marien is visible from afar.
