Stammburg der Wettiner
The ancestral castle of the Wettin dynasty stands on a volcanic rock above the town named after the noble family. The origins of the castle, located near the Saale river, date back to the 10th century. The complex, which consists of an upper and lower castle, now serves as a grammar school specialising in art and can be partially visited.
