Die Benediktinerabtei in Tholey gilt als ältestes Kloster Deutschlands und wurde 634 n. Christus erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Etwa 10 Benediktinermönche haben hier ihren dauerhaften Wohnsitz. Eine Besonderheit ist die Architektur der gotischen Abteikirche. Neben einer herrlichen Klosteranlage mit Obstbäumen und hauseigener Imkerei, verfügt die Abtei auch über einen Klosterladen mit eigenen und regionalen Produkten.
