The Wadden Sea UNESCO World Heritage Site is a unique natural landscape along the North Sea coasts of Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark. It covers an area of around 10,000 square kilometres and is home to an impressive variety of plants and animals, such as birds, fish and seals. The landscape can be experienced in a particularly spectacular way on a mudflat hike.
