Hauptstraße 29, 79650 Schopfheim
The old court building (Amtsgerichtsgebäude), constructed in 1866, is located between the kindergarten and the old Town Hall, fronting the Marktplatz square. The Grand Duchy of Baden’s coat of arms on the building’s façade still bears witness to its former use as a court. The court had been based in the town since 1857, and moved into its new building here nine years later. Today, the building houses Schopfheim’s town archives and treasurer’s office; the court now sits at Hauptstraße 16.
