Welcome to

The Forum Recht Foundation creates diverse and open spaces where people can talk about their experiences with the law and the rule of law. In this way, it brings current topics into public dialogue—in its foundation premises in Karlsruhe, at its location in Leipzig, but also on the move throughout Germany and digitally. To this end, the Forum Recht Foundation takes up people's everyday experiences with the law and the rule of law and develops interdisciplinary offerings – from city tours, workshops, and discussions to podcasts, exhibitions, artistic interventions, and readings. To this end, the federal foundation under public law was established in 2019 by an act of the German Bundestag. In addition to actively involving its target groups, the foundation also relies on close cooperation with a (inter)national network of institutions and actors in political education, justice, science, and culture. The main goal is for citizens to understand and respect the rule of law as a positive part of their everyday lives. They are committed to peaceful and free coexistence based on the values of the Basic Law and democracy. **New buildings in Karlsruhe and Leipzig** Two buildings for the Forum Recht foundation are to be constructed in Karlsruhe and Leipzig: Designed as an event and meeting venue, discussion forum, and public meeting place, Forum Recht is both an educational institution and a globally unique location for interdisciplinary and participatory engagement with law and the rule of law. In Karlsruhe, Forum Recht will be built in the immediate vicinity of the Federal Court of Justice on the corner of Kriegstraße and Herrenstraße. In Leipzig, a joint building with the law faculty is planned on Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz, close to the city center.
