General information

The listed Glatz Mill with its original technology is one of the most comprehensive historic mills in Germany today. Thoroughly and carefully restored by its owners, the Glatz family, it has been possible to tour the privately run outdoor museum since 1987.

The unique, historic facility includes a flour mill, a barley press from 1800, an oil mill from 1848 and a number of different sawmills. A sharpening machine and a wine press, both featuring belt drives, bear testimony to the technical standards at the dawn of the industrialization. Also belonging to the mill is an outhouse with a schnapps distillery, medieval deep wells and a bread oven.

Guided tours for groups can be arranged by telephoning the Glatz family (see number below).
