NaturBad Lake Teterow

General information

In order to enable regular bathing at Lake Teterow, permanent bathing establishments were established by the middle of the 19th century at the latest. At that time, different times of use were still in force for men and women. From 1910 to 1963 the bathing establishment on the city side of the lake was in operation. Due to the heavy pollution caused by municipal sewage and slaughterhouse discharges, bathing was no longer possible. The plant had to be closed. Demolition followed three years later. Only the tower building remained standing until 1972. For many years, Teterowers and guests mainly used the bathing facilities on the Burgwall Island. Over time, the water quality improved and the area of the old bathing establishment could be used for bathing again.

Today, the natural bath "Wasserratten" invites you to enjoy an extensive bathing experience. Bathing jetties, swimming pontoon, sunbathing lawn, playground equipment, table tennis, volleyball court and a small bistro complete the bathing fun. From Easter to the end of September the barge REGULUS departs from the natural swimming pool for trips on the Teterow Lake and to the Burgwall Island.
